With the recent PS3 update you can now save your gamesaves onto a cloud. Although the limits are 150mb space or 1000 game saves it does and serves its purpose well. The only issue is that it is only for PSN Plus members. Having your game saves stored online is a really great way not to lose anything. The way growth in techonology have developed PS4 will probably have cloud game saving for everyone. Most have internet and by defualt the game will more then likely save right to the cloud instead of your system. You would never have to worry about transfering it over as it would always have the latest up to date game save.
